Biography |
- Samuel and Wolf Dreifuss, brothers, and sons of Abraham and Rachel (Kauffman) Dreifuss, were born at Schmieheim, Baden, Germany, the former, December 13, 1853, and the latter, October 8, 1858. They attended the public schools of their native place and acquired all the education they ever received in their native country. Samuel came to America in February, 1873, and Wolf in November, 1874, and they lived with an uncle at Danville. For several years they were itinerant merchants, and in 1878 they settled in Milton, where they engaged in the clothing business, in which they have been very successful; the business is now conducted by Wolf, his brother having retired several years since. The store is the largest in this section of the State. They are also large owners of real estate. They are both members of Warrior Bun Royal Arch Chapter, No. 246, of Watsontown. Samuel has for many years been an active Odd Fellow, while Wolf belongs to Knights of the Golden Eagle and B. P. O. Elks. Both reside in Milton, Pa.
