    Biography
    • After graduating from Bucknell University (B.S., Bacteriology, 1928; Sigma Chi) James worked as a state inspector for the Pa. Dept. of Health. In 1930 he married and moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1931, where he worked for Borden Dairies in the quality control laboratory. He and wife Thelma lived in Brooklyn, NY, where first son James Stamm Seidel was born in 1934. Their brownstone walk-up appartment was very close to Prospect Park, where James and Thelma spent a lot of time. By 1940, James and Thelma and son James moved to Bellmore, Long Island. In 1941, after the birth of son Anthony, James returned to Milton, PA and went into partnership with his brother, Richard, and opened a dairy on Elm Street (Seidel's Dairy), buying the Maurice Krick Serve-U-Right Dairy. In 1950, they sold it to Penn Supreme Dairies of Harrisburg. James joined Chef Boy-Ar-Dee as the head of the quality control laboratories and later as technical director (in1960) until his death.

      Per Mary Seidel, her mother and father were married under an old oak tree on the homestead in Peach Bottom Twp., York Co., PA, formerly the farm of Mary & Bill Thompson and currently occupied by daughter Pat. Marion joined the Slate Ridge Church December 13, 1891, and transferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Milton, PA on November 4, 1900 after her marriage.  Witnesses were Elizabeth Steward and Georgia Jones. The Rev. A. Lewis Hyde, pastor of Slate Ridge Church, married them
