George Stout Shimer was the President of Milton Manufacturing Company until it went into receivership in 1926. He lived at 216 N Front St. with his wife Libba Stuart (Moore) and children Miriam, Florence, and George Jr. in 1910. The family moved in 1918 to the elegant Dickerman mansion (called Rose Hill) at 541 Broadway.
