Joseph H. Johnson Coal Elevator - 55 Center Street
This coal elevator and yard was located on the west side of the Philadelphia & Reading RR tracks between Broadway and Center Street. This view is to the west. Bound Avenue is behind the building. In 1870 this area was owned by Joseph Caldwell and Samuel McMahan, both lumber dealers, and was along the canal.
