The home visible beyond the temporary buildings belonged to William H. Hackenberg, a prominent attorney. It was located next to what is now Lincoln Park, at 2-4 N. Front St., and can be found in the Homes section of the Table of Contents.

The sign near the street is for the Miltonian newspaper and a tobacco stand.
